Android Q beta 2 is now available! With it comes many new features, and many new concerns. They go deep into the changes and problems with Q beta 2 before closing out the episode with some chat about Verizon's 5G rollout.

As Darkshark notes in the Imgur post, he started by taking a photo of his fingerprint on a wine glass, and then used Photoshop to boost contrast and create an alpha mask. He then switched over to 3ds Max to create a 3D model of the fingerprint, and sent that information to a 3D printer to print his fingerprint. He says it took three tries to get the right ridge height, but as you can see in the video above, he was able to unlock the Galaxy S10 with the 3D printed fingerprint.

Although the ultrasonic sensor wasn't infallible, it is better than optical sensors that can be fooled by a regular printout or photo of a fingerprint.

Another Honor smartphone is on its way, and this time it was trademarked in Argentina. The National Institue of Industrial Property (INPI) certified the name Honor 9S for the Latin American country. Although this could be an entirely new smartphone, we are more likely looking at a rebranded Huawei Enjoy 9s that is yet to escape China.

The listing does not reveal any details about the smartphone since it is only a trademark of the name. It is issued to the name of Huawei and its Argentine representatives. If it is really the Huawei Enjoy 9s (which is essentially the Huawei P Smart+ 2019 with more RAM and storage), we are looking at a midranger with three cameras on the back, Kirin 710 chipset and a 6.21” LCD screen.

We are still waiting to see if the phone will arrive at the LATAM region under this moniker or is Huawei just trademarking various names for the sake of trademarks.

The Nokia X71 has the tough task of competing with the likes of the Redmi Note 7 Pro and vivo V15 Pro for the midrange crown in China. The device offers a versatile camera setup with 48MP (main) and 8MP (wide) sensors as well as the trendy hole punch display. As of today, Chinese users can reserve HMD’s latest phone through the official Nokia site.

Running through the spec sheet, the phone boasts a 6.39" 1080p+ LCD with a cutout for the front 16MP camera. Inside is the Snapdragon 660 paired with 6GB RAM and either 64/128GB storage with microSD expansion.

The back features Nokia’s first triple camera setup with the f/1.8 48MP primary sensor, 120-degree ultra wide 8MP lens and the 5MP depth sensor.

The Nokia X71 starts at CNY 2,199($325/€290) for the 64GB model and goes up to CNY 2,699 ($400/€355) for the 128 GB version.

Pre-orders will begin shipping on April 17. According to past information, the X71 will make its way as the Nokia 8.1 Plus internationally and will also feature NFC, however there is still no time-frame for the global launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G^[1] isn't out yet but one of the first, if not the first, teardown videos just popped up. It takes you through the whole process of disassembly and shows off all the internals of the phone so if you like hardware videos, go ahead and watch it.

Of course, since the phone has a glass sandwich design, a heat gun is needed to loosen up the adhesive holding the back plate before prying it up. The first thing we see is the triple-camera module along with the 3D ToF sensor and the plate used for wireless charging. A couple of cables need to be removed before proceeding too.

The rest is business as usual but there are a few takeaways from this - you have to remove almost everything before you can access the display for changing (at least that's what we can see from the video) and there's a mysterious unpopulated connector on the mainboard that hints at a different version or a carrier-specific one with some additional hardware. Also, there's nothing unusual of the cooling solution - it consists of a thick layer of thermal paste making contact with a small copper heatsink.

According to Android Q documentation, the next big Android OS will natively support a feature called "deep press" or also known as Force Touch or 3D Touch in iOS language.

By the looks of it, it will be exactly what it sounds - an enhanced functionality tied with a pressure-sensitive screen. So far there have been a couple of custom implementations of the feature, but Android Q will bring native support for it.

It's still unknown how it will work and how it will be implemented in this year's Android iteration. We don't even know if additional hardware will be required under the screen for sensing the pressure or it's entirely software-based.

Huawei had a fabulous event in Paris where the star of the show was the Huawei P30 Pro^[1] with plenty of hybrid zoom and other nice features. The vanilla Huawei P30^[2] got some of the spotlight, but its onstage time was rather limited. The phone that some might deter from calling a flagship, actually has plenty of things going for it, especially with its much more aggressive price of €749.

The Huawei P30 comes with a 6.1” screen, and you might expect a rather compact device by today's standards. However, due to the chiselled sides, flat panel and thicker bezels in comparison to the Pro, it doesn't strike us as particularly small.

On the upside the P30 is the first vanilla Huawei flagship with an UD fingerprint scanner. Another positive thing in the Huawei P30 is the return of the headphone jack on the bottom, right next to the USB-C port.

You’d think Huawei P30's camera is rather boring with the lack of the periscope 5x zoom, but you still get the 40MP RYYB main sensor from the Pro albeit with no OIS and the 8 MP telephoto lens from the Mate 20 Pro^[3], while the 16 MP wide-angle shooter is the same as in the regular Huawei Mate 20^[4]. With such a setup and a 32 MP f/2.0 wide-angle front-facing camera, the P30 might end up being the second most versatile cameraphone in the market, which is no small feat considering that it doesn't cost €1,000.

We'll have to put it through its paces to know that though - stick around for the full review and our final verdict. While waiting, you can feast your eyes on the stunning Breathing Crystal color that goes anywhere from Pearl White to Aquamarine to Violet and reflects the light in Dawn Orange and Pink - truly an eye-candy.
