Redmi Y3 teased with 32MP selfie cam

Xiaomi’s newly independent Redmi sub-brand is looking to add another phone to its ranks. The upcoming Redmi Y3, which obtained its Wi-Fi certification last month^[1] was teased in a new tweet by Xiaomi India boss Manu Kumar Jain.

Mi fans! I got my hands on upcoming #Redmi^[2] phone & it is amazing! Went on a selfie rampage & the results are totally incredible.🤳

From last month’s certification, we knew the phone will run on MUI 10 with Android Pie. Today’s cryptic tweet hints at an enhanced front-facing camera with a likely 32MP sensor so we can add that to the Y3’s resume. Speculations suggest that the phone could arrive as a Pro variant of the existing Redmi 7^[7].

Pricing and the release date are still unknown but we can expect more details soon given today’s teaser.
